Talking to Yourself?

Ever catch yourself having those full-blown conversations in your head? You know, the ones where you’re not just thinking but actually responding, debating, or even giving yourself advice? Yeah, I do that too. And for a long time, I thought it was just me being a bit, well… weird. But then, I had this realization: It’s not just me. It’s my higher self having a chat, and wow, does it have some things to say!

**The “One-Way Conversations” We All Have**

Let me backtrack a bit. I’ve always had a pretty active inner dialogue—probably more than most. I used to think that everyone heard this constant stream of thoughts like a blog in their head. I’d be cooking, driving, or cleaning, and suddenly, I’d be in this deep “conversation” about life, relationships, or whatever else my mind decided to chew on. At first, I didn’t think much of it. But then, I started noticing something strange: these conversations weren’t just random thoughts. They were profound, wise, and sometimes way too insightful to be coming from “just me.”

** “Your higher self isn’t silent. It’s always talking—you just have to learn how to listen.”**

**Recognizing the Voice of My Higher Self**

Here’s the thing: We all have this voice. You might call it your intuition, gut feeling, or inner wisdom. For me, it feels like I’m having a conversation with another version of myself—one who’s calm, grounded, and all-knowing. And you know what? It’s always right.

It wasn’t until I started paying attention that I realized the difference between “Jackie the human” and “Jackie the higher self.” Jackie the human is the one who freaks out, doubts herself, and sometimes feels like she’s just winging it. But Jackie the higher self? She’s the one who knows, without a shadow of a doubt, that everything is unfolding exactly as it should. And that’s the voice I’m learning to trust more and more every day.

** “Your higher self knows the path, even when you can’t see it. Trust it—it”s been here before.”**

**How to Tell If It’s Your Higher Self Talking**

You might be wondering, “Okay, but how do I know if it’s my higher self or just my overactive imagination?” Good question! Here’s what I’ve discovered:

1. **It’s Calming, Not Chaotic:** The voice of your higher self isn’t frantic, panicked, or demanding. It’s calm, reassuring, and almost feels like a gentle nudge in the right direction. If the voice you’re hearing is freaking out, it’s probably not your higher self—it’s just your mind doing what it does best, talks to much, judging, criticizing, doubting, questioning.

2. **It Feels Like Truth:** When my higher self speaks, it feels like a “YES” deep in my bones. It’s not always what I want to hear, but it’s always what I need to hear. There’s a sense of peace that comes with it’s words, even if they challenge me.

3. **It’s Unconditional:** My higher self doesn’t judge me. It doesn’t criticize, belittle, or make me feel small. It’s all about love, compassion, and understanding. When I hear it, I feel supported, no matter what.

4. **It can be a feeling:** Sometimes there’s a bodily feeling that you can associate with it. Such as, goosebumps, tears, chills, high pitch ring, I have a friend that feels a “zinger” on the top of her head. Start to pay attention.

** “The voice of your higher self is the one that makes you feel seen, understood, and loved. Listen to it—Its got your back.”**

**Why It Matters to Listen to Your Higher Self**So, why am I even talking about this? Because, honestly, learning to recognize and trust my higher self has been a game-changer. It’s helped me make decisions that feel aligned with my truth, navigate challenges with more grace, and feel a deeper sense of connection to who I really am.

I used to ignore it. I used to brush off it’s wisdom as “just a thought” or “just my imagination.” But the more I leaned in, the more I realized: It’s the part of me that’s tapped into something greater. And when I let it take the lead, life feels a whole lot easier.

** “Your higher self is the GPS to your soul’s journey. Trust it to guide you home.”**

**How to Start Listening to Your Higher Self**

Want to tune in to your higher self? Here’s what’s worked for me:

1. **Quiet the Noise:** We’re constantly surrounded by noise—social media, work, family, responsibilities. It’s no wonder we can’t hear our higher selves! Take some time each day to sit in silence. Meditate, journal, or just be. The quieter your mind becomes, the louder the voice will be.

2. **Ask for Guidance:** Sounds simple, but it works. Whenever you’re feeling lost, uncertain, or in need of direction, just ask. Ask your higher self to show you the way, and then be open to whatever comes. It might be a thought, a feeling, or even a sign from the universe.

3. **Trust the Process:** This is the hardest part. When you start hearing your higher self, you’ll probably question it. “Is this real? Am I just making this up?” But the more you trust, the more you’ll realize that it’s been there all along, waiting for you to listen.

** “You’ll never find your way if you don’t stop to listen. Your higher self has been whispering to you all along.”**

**My Favorite Conversations with My Higher Self**

I’ve had some pretty incredible moments where my higher self dropped some wisdom bombs. Here are a few of my favorites:

- “You are enough, even when you feel like you’re not.”

- “You’re not here to be perfect. You’re here to be real.”

- “The only approval you need is your own.”

These aren’t just words—they’re truths that have shaped my journey and continue to guide me every day.
